A bi-annual residential trip for the older children is organised during the summer term. This trip encourages team building as well as providing individual challenges within the adventurous outdoor activities and environmental studies. It is an expectation of the school that your child attends, as it is a wonderful character building experience that the children thoroughly enjoy.
SKI - 2016
We are pleased to confirm that we have now secured a booking with The Ski Company who work closely with Essex County Council and who have many years experience of taking school children skiing in Europe. This is not the company who gave the presentation in school this term. We changed organiser because the original company would have also accommodated secondary school children which did not comply with Essex County Council educational visits recommendations.
The trip will take place between 5th and 12th March 2016 and colour brochures are available at Reception on a first come first served basis. The minimum age of children who can attend this trip is 6 years old on the day of departure. The good news is that this company offer better value for money. They offer the same level of services for £680.00 and the other benefit is that this holiday takes place in Switzerland.
The Ski Company will take care of all bookings and payments via their online system so please click on the link below to secure a place.
BRADWELL - 2016
The children in the current Years 4 and 5 will be going on a residential trip in May next year. We have decided to change the venue for this trip to Essex Outdoors at Bradwell as we feel this centre has more to offer than Kingswood where we normally go. The trip is based entirely on outdoor and adventurous activities such as sailing, quad biking, bridge building, canoeing, off-road biking and orienteering, as well as many fun activities down on the beach. You can find out more by going to their website www.essexoutdoors.org/bradwell.php.
The Bradwell team are fully qualified instructors drawn from all over the world who work with the children in small groups for each activity and the centre is run by Essex County Council. The rooms allow all the children to be together with their friends (boys and girls are separated). The children are served 3 hot meals a day and a full programme of evening entertainment is provided.
The actual price cannot be confirmed yet, but it will be in the region of £350. This price includes the coach journey to and from the school. To help families plan for this expenditure the school operates a saving scheme that encourages parents to pay for the holiday gradually over the forthcoming year. The dates for the holiday are: Depart from school Monday 23rd May (approx 10.00am) and return Friday 27th May (approx 3.30pm).
