During this half term we will be moving to Geography. The children will be learning about the United Kingdom including: countries, counties, cities, towns, rivers, mountains, and coastal areas.
In RE we will be looking at Buddhist worship and beliefs.
The children will be designing and making their own fairground rides with rotating parts in Design and Technology.
On Wednesday the 21st of March the whole school will be going to ‘Danbury Outdoors Centre’ where the children will participate in aerial trekking, archery and an obstacle course. I’m sure the children will thoroughly enjoy the day.
Year 6 will be sent home with SATs revision packs (maths - arithmetic and reasoning; Spelling punctuation and grammar; and reading comprehension) to complete as their homework instead of the normal homework. Parent guides will also be sent home with a marking scheme. I would suggest they spread out the revision activities evenly across the six weeks completing one from each subject each week. Please ask your child to practise the spellings from the year 5 and 6 list as they need to know these: a selection of these will come up in the spelling SAT together with words using the spelling rules that have been learnt across year 5 and 6.
Year 5’s homework will carry on as normal.
I have received some excellent homework this half term.
Have a great half term.
