Busy, busy, busy

The classroom was filled with the smell of spices as the children made pumpkin smoothies on Friday. They took turns to prepare and add ingredients, measuring and tasting as they went along. Nearly all the children tasted it and most of them finished a cupful!

The children also did some observational drawing of a pumpkin using oil pastels. They were taught how to blend and smudge by Mrs Langton and the results are brilliant.

Entrepreneurs in the making

admin on: Class 1 Blog

The children have been preparing their goods to sell to you all this afternoon. They are excited by the fact that they can make some money and buy a treat! I think that we may have to have some long discussions about what that treat might be.

Today the room has been filled with the smell of strawberries and oranges. Class one have experienced lots of science through the changes they made and observations they have seen through the process of making jam and marmalade.

Outdoor learning

admin on: Class 1 Blog

This week we have had a walk to the church to observe the autumn changes and to watch the traffic go whizzing past in the distance, on the A130. We also spent time outside school recording what vehicles were using the road. Looking at and tracking things in the distance is proven to improve children's vision. We will be doing lots more of it.

The children enjoyed the service at the church. The donations were gratefully received and used wisely.
